Princeton Battle Monument

Shannon Kaminski

The Princeton Battle Monument depicts General George Washington leading his troops to victory during the Revolutionary War. What struck me about this monument was its great size and central location. From exploring this sense of surprise, I discovered the dynamics between the Battle Monument Committee, Princeton government, and the artist while they were decided on where to build the monument and what it should look like.
