The Gateway Arch

The Gateway Arch is a monument located in the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial, 11 North Fourth Street, St. Louis, Missouri, on the banks of the Mississippi River. The 630 foot arch represents The Frontier and Westward expansion. While looking into the Gateway Arch, I found that the design for it was decided based on a contest held throughout all of the United States. When I delved into this, it made me realize how much this monument actually connects the United States both literally and through asking for the input of anyone on how to interpret the expansion to the West and Thomas Jefferson.
