Ocean City Music Pier

Liam Rennick

The Ocean City Music Pier was constructed on Moorlyn Terrace and the Boardwalk in 1928 by the city of Ocean City. It was built in hopes of bringing in more tourism and family oriented vacationers. The Music Pier was mainly built to provide space for both private and public concerts and other orchestrated events, but the Music Pier soon began adopting nearly any event that the city had to offer.

What I found to be most interesting while researching the Music Pier was how rich its history truly was. I had always known that the Music Pier was used for orchestras but I was shocked when I discovered that there had also been boxing matches!
