The Ford Mansion

Glenn Paladino

The Ford Mansion is located on 30 Washington Place in Morristown, New Jersey. The mansion’s location is perfect making it very easy to celebrate the historic past of our country. Morristown has a rich history with a lot of tradition for north Jersey; the town attracts a large amount of people from the Morris County area. The house represents the history of our country and one of the most legendary figures that we all have come to recognize and love. George Washington used this house as an escape in the cold winters of 1779-1780.

Initially I was astonished by how well kept the house was and how it is still in as good condition as it has ever been. But, I realized how special of a place this house was and how many people have taken care of the estates property to keep the legend of the house alive. It made so much sense when going to visit it, this house was the pride and joy of Morristown. The mystical feeling you receive from standing before the house is remarkable and you truly than get the meaning of the monument.

Finally, there was so much to learn from studying this monument and actually going to experience it firsthand. The magical presence you get from just walking through the house is one of a kind. The monument is not just a representation of the history of this great country, but it was actually a part of it at one time.
