9/11 Memorial (Manalapan, NJ)

Alex Levine

The 9/11 Memorial in Manalapan, NJ is a replica of the fallen Twin Towers of New York City. Its purpose is to remind people of the tragic events that occurred on September 11, 2001 and to never forget those who were lost on that horrific day.

What struck me most upon laying eyes on this structure is the fact that is a replica of the Twin Towers. The towers have a powerful effect on the viewer because it immediately reminds one of the tragedy of September 11, 2001. The aesthetics of the structure are very attractive and stand at 7 feet tall.

The sense of surprise that I felt by viewing the structure led me to wonder if people all over America feel the same pain as those in areas closer to New York or those who had personal ties to lost ones. The attack on the World Trade Center wasn’t an attack on New York; it was an attack on America.
